Robbe Beelen is making waves in the world of speed skating, transitioning from a background in inline skating. His journey into the sport began with the “Road to Ice” project in Heerenveen, where he had his first skating experience. Since then, Robbe has increasingly focused on speed skating, particularly the sprint distances 500 and 1000 meters.

With a 2nd place on the Mass Start at the neo-senior World Cup 3 in 2023 he continued to improve. Robbe’s first exposure to the senior World Cup circuit came during the 2024 season, competing in Stavanger and Tomaszów Mazowiecki.

Thialf Heerenveen. From all the ice rinks I’ve been to so far it has the best combination of good ice & good facilities.

Most memorable skating moment

Inline: Becoming European Champion 100m youth. Ice: going to Norway to race a ISU World cup for the first time ever.
