Naomi Verkerk

Naomi Verkerk is a young and talented speed skater from the Netherlands. Naomi has been a dedicated skater since the age of nine, when she joined IJsclub Zwanenburg. In addition to her top sport endeavors, Naomi also studies Technical Medicine at the TU Delft.

Naomi Verkerk started skating when she was 9 years old. Her father was a trainer at the club, one time she went with him for fun, and from that moment on she went every week. Over the years, Naomi has honed her skills and developed a passion for the sport, and she has been consistently delivering impressive performances on the ice.

In 2017, Naomi impressively qualified for the Junior Dutch National Championships. In the following years, Naomi continued to show her skill and speed on the rink, and she quickly became known as a top skater in her age group.

In 2019, Naomi reached a major milestone in her career when she won the title of NK Supersprint Junior Champion, marking the end of her successful junior career.

Since then, Naomi has continued to compete at a high level and is now considered one of the rising stars of Dutch speed skating. She has her sights set on participating in the Winter Olympics in the future, and she is determined to do whatever it takes to make that dream a reality.

For the 2022/2023 season Naomi Verkerk made the bold decision to join Team Novus. With multiple PB’s, Rink records and her World Cup debut, we are extremely proud of the incredible steps she has made this year. Stay tuned, there is definitely more to come from Naomi Verkerk!
