Jurre was born on 30th April, 1993, in Zaanstad, the Netherlands. From a young age, Jurre’s athletic journey began on the football field, where his speed didn’t go unrecognised—his ball skills, however, not so much! Realising that his true talent lay in his speed, Jurre made a pivotal switch to athletics at the age of 16 after a friend invited him to a training session.

Jurre quickly made his mark on the track, recording a personal best of 49.02 seconds in the 400m as a junior, ranking him 3rd in the Netherlands at the time. His standout achievements include competing at the 2011 European Championships in Tallinn as part of the Dutch 4x400m team, becoming a Dutch champion in the 4x400m, and securing 3rd place in the 400m at the national level.

These days, Jurre calls Amsterdam home and spends his free time pursuing his many passions, including DJing, running, and CrossFit. He’s currently training for Hyrox, and loves hitting up music festivals whenever he gets the chance.

Jurre once dreamed of becoming a professional football player but soon realized that his calling was to help others. This led him to pursue a career in physiotherapy and is proudly part of Team Novus, travelling around the world as the trusted team physio.

Fun fact

Jurre is a real impulsive buyer, often realising after the fact that he didn’t really need that latest purchase—but hey, at least the dopamine hit was worth it!
