Bo van der Werff, also known as Bowie, was born on 24th August 1992 in Groningen, the Netherlands. Bo’s journey into the world of speed skating began at the age of 7, when a simple outing with her parents turned into a lifelong passion. She instantly fell in love with the sport, and what started as a childhood love soon grew into a professional pursuit.

Bo has made her mark on the ice, boasting impressive personal records of 38.21 seconds in the 500m and 1.17,94 in the 1000m. Her dedication and hard work have paid off, with notable achievements such as a 3rd place finish in the 500m at the NK distances for seniors, and an 8th place finish at the World Cup in Heerenveen, also in the 500m.

Off the ice, Bo is a true adventurer. She enjoys spending time in nature, whether it’s hiking, climbing, or ski touring. Her love for sports extends beyond skating; she’s also a passionate tennis player. When she’s not outdoors, you can often find her in the kitchen, indulging in her love for cooking and baking, or enjoying quality time with her family and friends.

This brings us on to the important role Bo plays as the team’s nutritionist. Her fresh and innovative approach to nutrition and tools is key to the team’s strategy and helps boost the athletes’ performance.
